In the first of our hands-on classes, participants will venture into the vineyard to learn about the crucial work in a vineyard during the winter months. The vines are dormant but must be tended with an eye towards the growing season to come. We will collect temperature data, perform bud counts on pre-cut canes, and work with a couple different varieties to talk about pruning weights, pruning strategy, and vine balance.
A light lunch with a glass of wine will be served at the end of class.
